My little five year old grandson playing in dad’s car whilst dad’s working on the engine.
The grandson shouts, “Can I put a cd on please daddy?”
“Of course you can!…. Not too loud though. You know how to play it, remember?”
“Yes daddy, I know what to do.”
About ten minutes later, the grandson shouts to his dad, ” the cd won’t work, it’s stuck in and I can’t get it out.”
Dad, my blended son, confused as to why it’s not working, decides to have a look.
“Arhggh….what have you done?”
“It’s not working daddy”
“I can see that!…. That’s a dvd, not a cd. The empty case on the seat gave it away!
But, there’s more!
Unbeknownst to daddy, the grandson had struggled to get the ‘cd’ out from it’s case holder and had snapped it in two. Clever grandson after saying “oops” to himself decided to mend it, so nipped into the house and covered it in sticky tape to hold it together (so his daddy wouldn’t notice), then on his return, rammed it into the cd player hoping it would burst into rock music rather than Die Hard 4!
Impressed or not impressed?!…tweezers eventually had the snapped dvd out and a few ‘polite’ words soon had his son out of his car too! Car locked whilst mechanic blended son continued his repairs!
Typical family life. I was no different when I was a child although cds, cd players, dvds and their players hadn’t even been thought of back then!
now for a cup-of-T
