I do hear, yet seldom listen!

So, a visit to the doctors a while ago always gets me anxious, maybe the fear of discovering something else that I’ve not actually gone there for.

Yet a part of my appointment whilst I could, I did mention separately about my weight struggles and gain when really I needed the opposite and how unhappy it was making me feel.

Taking on board my doctors advice regarding this, maybe I just heard what he said but just didn’t listen enough.

After a few months, the doctors advice just seemed not to be working at all. I had put on almost a stone in weight making me not only just feel sad, bad and grumpy but also at odds as to why this was happening as I was ‘doing what the doctor advised?’

So, booked an appointment as a follow up purely to discuss why my weight had dramatically increased in a short space of time.

“Hmmmm,” said my doctor, “I find it strange that taking my advice to you of ‘ eat less, move more’ should have such a negative impact on your weight?”

“Ahh,” I sheepishly replied as my usual ‘hear yet seldom listen’ brought me to heel….”Did you tell me to “eat less, move more?….. ahhh, hmmm, now I understand”

My doctor just sighed asking me to try again and my new and listened to understanding of  ‘eat less, move more’ I’m sure will have the desired effect I’m after.

Note to diary…’ hear something said and listen to what’s been said…it helps!’

now for a cup-of-T…no sugar and skimmed milk!
